Apple is boasting that this boost will make the 15-inch model up to 70 percent faster with the 13-inch model getting two times faster performance. The Core i7 models are clocked at 2.7 (4.5GHz with Turbo Boost) while the integrated Iris Plus 655 graphics receives a bump to 128MB eDRAM - double the amount from the previous models.

Apple today updated MacBook Pro with faster performance and new pro features, making it the most advanced Mac notebook ever. The Mac mini has not been updated for more than 1,300 days, aka over 3 and a half years.

Lastly, the new MacBook Pros come with Apple's third-generation of butterfly switch keyboard that promises to be quieter.

Only the 13in and 15in MacBook Pros with Touch Bar have been updated, leaving the model without a Touch Bar unchanged, along with the smaller MacBook and iMac. However, as reported by The Verge, Apple claims the updated keyboard design only enables quieter typing and is not meant to solve any of the previously reported issues.

That's a lot of coin to throw at storage, especially when compared to the price of external storage, but if you want fast internal storage, then you can't say Apple hasn't given you the option. Blackmagic cited unspecified compatibility issues that will keep the eGPU from being used with Windows, though they company added, "We expect these limitations to be fixed in future updates from Windows computer vendors".

Apple's shares rose 1.2 per cent to $190.16 in NY, valuing the company at US$934.3 billion.

Currently, Apple has a few 2015 MacBook Pro models listed in its online clearance section, but it's likely that Apple will not have more to sell after those are gone.
