What Kyrie Irving had to say about the most recent Celtics season

Injuries have always been a big concern for Irving, as he only played in 11 games in college at Duke and has never played a full 82 game season in his National Basketball Association career. Boston would take a 3-2 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals over LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers but the Celtics would drop the final two games of the series.

So how is he feeling?

After weeks of being "an outsider looking in", Irving said he's planning on dedicating this offseason to his craft and is taking everything one day at a time to ensure he will be ready for the start of training camp. Sure, he's a bit - how do I say this - unconventional, but you still don't expect players to be so opaque about the future. He said he's not running on a treadmill yet, but mentioned he is participating in "running activities" on the basketball court. Irving's response about his future with the Celtics certainly isn't reassuring to green teamers, but it's also important to remember that this is Kyrie Irving.

"Well, I mean, I know that question is going to come up a lot over the next year, just based upon where my deal is".

"For me, I don't think it's a basketball thing", Wade said, as quoted on NESN.

Celtics fans have seen the best and worst moments of James' career up close in personal. When he returns, he will join a team that grew significantly more battle-tested in his absence, even if he missed taking part in the action.

"I'm truly grateful to be able to speak with management as well as our coaching staff", he said. "You work extremely hard to be able to play really well on that big of a stage".

"If I'm Boston you could do a few things". But I'm still around. "They gained a lot of experience, and now it can only help us going forward". "So we'll see what management decides". I really just can't wait to see how we all kind of feel going into the summertime and when we get together.

There will nearly certainly be hot take artists who read that from Irving and do the "he's not committed to the team" nonsense that we've come to expect out of radio hosts and columnists from the otherwise great city of Boston.
