Two arrested after armed robbery attempt on Bass Avenue

Investigators say the victim met with the suspects - 35-year-old Michael Brunson and 32-year-old Christine Holliday - while looking at rental apartments in the area.

A 21-year-old North Bay man is facing a slew of attempted robbery charges following an incident in the early morning hours Sunday (April 15).

"McCray stated that he knew a robbery was going to happen and that his girlfriend, Savanna Shelton, drove him to the location", HPD wrote.

Police were able to catch them shortly after and they were arrested.

Police said the suspects were shedding their outer clothing and weapons while running and attempted to enter a vehicle on Dale Avenue when officers apprehended.

Police also described Baker, who is African-American, as 6 feet, 1 inch tall and weighing 225 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.

The man drove off in her auto, described as a gold 2006 Nissan Altima with Wisconsin plate number 588-GDS, police said.

At that point, the robber opened the cash drawer, grabbed a stack of $20 bills totaling $420, and then fled toward the back door, police said.

The court has now asked for the original file of the case to be set before it, before giving a way forward on the hearing of Ogutu's case afresh.
