At first glance, Hotel Artemis seems like a thinly-veiled John Wick knock-off, basing its premise around a strictly regulated hotel that caters to the criminally inclined - much like the Continental hotels in those pulpy Wick flicks. In the trailer, we're introduced to the underground world of criminals that seek refuge at the Hotel Artemis. Sterling K. Brown costars as Waikiki, a robber who shows up at Hotel Artemis injured alongside his crew one night, following what was otherwise a successful job.
Such orders include "no insulting the staff", like Dave Bautista's healthcare provider character who takes no nonsense from anyone; "no weapons allowed", meaning the arms dealer dude played by Charlie Day definitely shouldn't have loaded guns inside the Artemis; and "no killing the other patients", which proves hard for the femme fatale portrayed by Sofia Boutella, as she can hardly resist attempting murder.
The first trailer's arrived for the action thriller Hotel Artemis from screenwriter and first time feature film director Drew Pearce (writer of Iron Man 3, Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation).More news: 'I'm sorry': Beattie responds after Commonwealth Games closing ceremony 'stuff up'

In the new, near future-set, action-thriller Hotel Artemis, Jodie Foster (Silence of the Lambs) plays a character called The Nurse who runs a secret, members-only hospital for criminals.
