Before he nearly certainly embarks on filming James Bond 25, with production on that set to start at the end of the year, Danny Boyle will be shooting his thus-far untitled musical comedy. Sheeran already had cameos in The Bastard Executioner, Game of Thrones, and Bridget Jones' Baby, so this would be a continuation of his push into film and TV.

Ed Sheeran is reportedly set to star in a new film from Danny Boyle and Richard Curtis set in a world where The Beatles never existed.

Reports suggest that the new movie has the working title of "All You Need is Love", and it's all about a busker who wakes up and realises he's the only person on the planet who remembers The Beatles' music.

Boyle will be directing from a script he co-wrote with Richard Curtis.

Initial word of Sheeran's involvement comes courtesy of Deadline, where it's reported that the now untitled comedy project - written by Love Actually's Richard Curtis - has already rounded up a cast that includes Lily James, Kate McKinnon and Himish Patel. The Daily Mail first reported and Deadline confirmed that Sheeran is in talks to join the cast of Oscar-winning Slumdog Millionaire filmmaker Danny Boyle's upcoming musical comedy from Working Title. "If anyone can make a film about the Beatles songs even better musically, it's him'".

On the night, he performed an acoustic version of the Beatles' hit In My Life in front of an audience which included the two surviving members of the Fab Four, Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr.

Filming for the movie is set to take place later on this summer.
