The publisher made the announcement during the Sega Fes event in Japan, to much celebration from the fans who have followed the series since its Dreamcast days.

If Shenmue III passing its Kickstarter and getting a full release wasn't enough, we are now getting Shenmue I & II remastered in all its glory for the next gen.

Adam Koralik, a YouTuber focused on video game content, traveled to Japan for SEGA Fes 2018 and there they confirmed that Shenmue I & II will be sold for a price of $29.99 Dollars on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Like we said, Shenmue 1 and 2 will be hitting modern platforms sometime later this year.

The Shenmue games tell a story of intrigue and mystery as Ryo Hazuki searches for answers to his father's murder and to unlock the mysteries of an artifact called the Dragon's Mirror.

Shenmue I & II comes complete with the original feature set that defined modern gaming, including enthralling jujitsu combat, investigative sleuthing, and RPG elements in addition to memorable mini-games. The re-release will stay true to the originals with modernised features including fully scalable screen resolution, choice of modern or classic control schemes, PC graphics options, an updated user interface and the option to enjoy either the original Japanese or English voiceovers.

We knew it was coming - Sega's been teasing us for a couple of years now - but this is the first time we've had definitive confirmation.
