After shooting and killing Hutchinson in the Fort Myers area, police say Riess stole her cash, credit cards, ID, and vehicle. Pamela Sellers Hutchinson, 59, was found dead in her condominium near Fort Meyers Beach.
"Ms. Hutchinson's purse was found to be in disarray and all cash, credit cards and identification appeared to be removed", Lee County Undersheriff Carmine Marceno said, adding: "Further investigation revealed that Ms. Hutchinson was targeted by the suspect due to the similarities in their appearance". The auto has been seen in Louisiana and Corpus Christi, Texas, since Hutchinson died. Riess' 2005 Cadillac Escalade that was snowy was discovered abandoned at a Florida park. Her existing whereabouts are still unknown.
Reiss' plan, investigators say, was to steal the woman's identity. "U.S. Marshals are actively involved in a national search for this unsafe fugitive".
