Kathua rape accused must be punished, says United Nations chief

Asifa Bano, an eight-year-old girl from the nomadic Bakerwal Muslim community disappeared near her house while grazing horses on January 10 in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district.

The rape victim's father had later died in police custody after being allegedly thrashed by Sengar's brother and his supporters.

Bollywood came forward to demand justice for the eight-year-old minor victim, who was brutally gang raped and killed in Kathua of Jammu and Kashmir. And the fact that the lawyers and politicians of the state have taken to the streets to protest against the charge sheet filed against the perpetrators is an even more shocking news. But if the state government is fully assured that proper investigations have been done by the local police, then the case should not be handed over to CBI.
