Donald Trump is losing it on Twitter over James Comey

"He said, 'If there's even a 1% chance that my wife thinks that's true, that's bad.' And I remember thinking, 'How could your wife think there's a 1% chance that you were with prostitutes peeing on each other in Moscow?'" he said. In it, Comey wrote that Trump, in a private meeting, pressed the then-FBI director for his loyalty.

But so far, the White House's strategy was doing little to stop the barrage of news stories about the book.

"James Comey, a man of integrity?"

According to CNN security correspondent Jamie Gangel, several them worry about the damage Comey's schoolgirl behavior might cause to the FBI's reputation. The full interview with Comey will be released on Sunday. He leaked CLASSIFIED information, for which he should be prosecuted.

Days later, during a follow-up call, Trump assured Comey, "I'm a germophobe". Comey has also provided the president himself with a very pleasant distraction, handing Trump the opportunity to do what he does best: send angry, insult-laden tweets that fire up both his base and the fifth estate. Trump's leadership, Comey says, is "transactional, ego driven and about personal loyalty".

The president had called Mr Comey an "untruthful slime ball" on Friday, after details first emerged of the memoir.

The interviews are Comey's first public comments since he testified before the Senate Intelligence Committee last June, when he accused Trump of firing him to undermine the FBI's Russian Federation investigation. Trump tweets: "It was my great honor to fire him". Other than mistakes in the way I presented myself in the July 5 public statement in front of the television cameras, I am convinced that if I could do it all again, I would do the same thing, given my role and what I knew at the time.

Comey's firing set in motion the appointment of special counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating possible collusion by Trump's presidential campaign with Russians. "I don't know. Certainly not consciously, but I would be a fool to say it couldn't have had an impact on me".

Comey also said the allegations in the dossier had not been verified at the time he left the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Third, Trump gets into his claim that there's a partisan conspiracy working against him - claiming former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe is corrupt, and that this is all somehow actually Hillary Clinton's fault.

Though Democrats and their mainstream media allies have lavished disgraced former FBI Director James Comey with praise for his upcoming gossip book, not everybody feels similarly, including his own former coworkers.

Comey writes that he could not understand how Melania Trump could believe that her husband was capable of engaging in such urolagniac activities.

"We find that Mr. Comey has a revisionist view of history and seems like a disgruntled ex-employee, afterall he was sacked", Counselor to the President Kellyanne Conway added.
