The Xperia R1 comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt storage, while the Xperia R1 Plus packs 3GB RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage. They are powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC.

The Xperia R1 mid-range handsets bear a 13-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash. For the front, there is an 8-megapixel shooter for selfies and video calling. Both the smartphones are backed by a 2620mAh battery. On the connectivity front, both of them supports, 4G VoLTE, GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, USB Type-C, WiFi and dual-SIM support.
