The shooting of the film will start in August and is bankrolled by Fox Star Studios.
The film is slated to release on 5 April 2019.
While Zoya's role will be essayed by Sonam, Dulquer will be seen in the character of Nikhil Khoda, the skipper of the Indian cricket team, who is sceptical about the hype surrounding Zoya and according to the novel, does not believe in luck. The screenplay has been penned by Neha Rakesh Sharma, and the dialogues are written by Pradhuman Singh.More news: Airtel to raise Rs.16500 crore as telecom fight gets fierce

This is another good project for Sonam, who can easily play such breezy characters, and has a knack for comedy. The novel is based on a Rajput girl who meets an Indian Cricket Team through her job as an executive of an advertising agency and ends up being the lucky charm of the team in the World Cup. Sonam was sent an autographed copy of the book after he saw Neerja. "We both got busy with our respective commitments after that but a few months later, Sonam checked with Aarti, a close friend of hers, on the status of the screen adaptation", Abhishek revealed to the tabloid. The director chose to have Dulquer on board after watching the trailer of OK Kanmani.
Talking about Dulquer, Abhishek said: "I knew immediately that this was the boy we were looking for after I watched OK Kanmani. Directed by #AbhishekSharma, co-starring @dulQuer @foxstarhindi #AdlabsFilms".
Undoubtedly, we can say the year is going to be the best in the career for actor Dulquer Salmaan. It was a quick shoot as he was wrapping up another film and Sonam was rushing out of town. She falls in love with the captain of the team (Dulquer) and helps in motivating him for the World Cup.
