We contacted Blizzard last night about the tweet and it sounds like everyone should cool their jets. for now.

Following up on the story, sources have mentioned to Eurogamer that there is, in fact, a Diablo game being readied for the Nintendo Switch. A Blizzard representative elaborated, "We can assure you we're not that clever". "We have nothing to announce". The game in question is a port of Diablo 3, and an official announcement is months away.

According to sources from Eurogamer, the "project is very much in production". We can more than likely expect a package similar to the Ultimate Evil Edition we saw launch for the Xbox One and PlayStation 4.

For the past few days, one of the most talked about possibilities in the video gaming world was the possibility of seeing a "Diablo" title for the Nintendo Switch hybrid console. Some believed that it would not be a very hard task to port the first "Diablo" game considering it was originally developed for very early consoles like the PlayStation 1. This, naturally, seemed to amplify the rumors of a Diablo III port onto the Nintendo Switch.however the company later stepped in to say it was just an "engagement piece" and it has "nothing new to announce".

But this isn't the first time a cute Blizzard tweet has led to speculation that didn't pan out.

Blizzard recently took to Twitter to provide fans with a on-the-nose hint of a monster light being switched on and off.

We're still waiting on that Hearthstone port, Blizzard.

Those sources also aren't able to tell us if Diablo 3 for Switch will include Reaper of Souls or Rise of the Necromancer, but the safe assumption is that it will.
