The book focuses on Wolff's insider access to Trump's White House for the past year, calling it "insane".

-The head of leading conservative group CPAC said it's not true the president absent-mindedly repeats the same story and can't grasp policy.

Among other things, Bannon described a meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and Russian operatives as "treasonous".

"It's unfortunate, but anyone who wants to support Danny I'm sure we would be happy to have", she said.

SHE'S the publicity-shy billionaire who helped turn Donald Trump from novelty candidate into the President of the United States. And they have zero impact, even after 90 percent of their coverage on this president... has been negative.

Bannon acknowledged Manafort is "a seasoned campaign professional with experience and knowledge of how the Russians operate", but said in light of that experience he "should have known they are duplicitous, cunning and not our friends".

The interview was cut off by host Jake Tapper when Miller became both elusive and argumentative. Why invite someone on from Trump's administration, and then not give them the chance to talk? For Donald Trump, however, the hours are roughly 11-6, and getting shorter. That is their mode of operation. It seemed like he didn't care that much.

WOLFF: Steve Bannon is the ultimate strategist. Is this damage control or was he actually misquoted? We knew they were corrupt, but this is the first time we've understood that the Trump family and its hangers-on went into this whole thing cynically, just looking to make a quick buck.

Bannon expressed regret on Sunday, attempting in a statement to clarify that he stood by Trump.

Wolff told NBC News on Friday that White House staff treated Trump like a child.

"The book is clearly going to be sold in the bargain fiction section", the spokeswoman said.

During the transition, she pushed for Mr Trump to appoint conservative figures to key roles, such as advocating for Jeff Sessions as attorney-general, and brought in Mr Bannon and Kellyanne Conway for key roles.

Mr Trump also avoided being in the same room as Ms Mercer, according to Fire And Fury.

I'm not a journalist, but as a professor and a columnist, I have had to read a lot of journalism about Trump over the past year. He has admitted to some extent some stuff isn't fully verified.

Miller also criticized Bannon, who is quoted extensively in the book, saying it was "tragic and unfortunate" that Bannon "would make these grotesque comments so out of touch with reality and obviously so vindictive". "Now, the Jewish great and the good, the venerated and the tried, the mandarins and myrmidons, had to pay court to Jared Kushner ... who until little more than a few minutes ago had truly been a nobody".

BARNICLE: Who was the original contact for you to get you into the White House? And this is another media frenzy. So, yes, if you think that having people around you keep your deteriorating condition a secret is "handling it well", he did do that.
