Harry Kane breaks record as Tottenham thump Everton

Tottenham Hotspur showed their class by thumping Everton 4-0 at Wembley Stadium on Saturday evening.

- Son Heung-min became only the second player to score in five consecutive home Premier League matches for Spurs, after Jermain Defoe in 2004.

"I hope that the word isolation was mentioned in his contract negotiations when he was signing for Everton", the Manchester United legend said on BT Sport.

"Or what would the game have gone like if Harry's goal would have been disallowed - because I think it's offside looking on the laptop". If you can play like that at Liverpool and just at the death get beat, surely you can come here to Tottenham and deliver the same performance and maybe get a result. "Luckily it went my way".

Six of Kane's goals came in the form of back-to-back hat-tricks against Burnley and Southampton either side of Christmas, while he had earlier netted a brace in a victory over Stoke. I congratulate him, he deserves the credit. "Everyone else, they may move on, but it's so important that they keep them". "He is always thinking to try to improve, improve, improve, score goals and improve for the team".

A League or FA Cup Final would have been the occasion Evertonians preferred to be visiting Wembley for, but given that's not happening until at least next season, we'll settle for an "away" game against Spurs in their temporary home.

"After having a wonderful start, we are back on risky ground with our results and it's our responsibility to get results, not wait to see if other teams have lost".

"The disappointing thing for us is, what would the game have finished like had we scored the first goal when Wayne's got disallowed?"

Tottenham striker Harry Kane admits Manchester City are far superior to them in terms of spending power.

Kane remains well adrift of Spurs legend Jimmy Greaves's club tally of 220 goals in 321 First Division appearances - to the relief of manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The South Korea star was just happy to have a full-time role this season, saying: "I love playing now".

"I think a lot of our players were exhausted", Conte added before downplaying the extent of Cahill's injury by saying "I do not think it was serious".

It hasn't quite been the comeback to Premier League management that Sam Allardyce would have envisioned.

Everton were denied the opening goal by the offside flag on 21 minutes as Cenk Tosun's header from a Sigurdsson corner was nodded over Lloris by Rooney, but he was marginally offside.

Kane then forced Jordan Pickford into a strong save down to his left at the end of a quick Tottenham counter, and the hosts' strong response to the scare Rooney provided was quickly rewarded.

"There's still another 44 minutes plus injury time to play, so play your way back into the game and be professional about it".
