Enter Miguel Sapochnik, director of Game of Thrones' best ever episode - "Hardhome" - and enter Richard Morgan's Philip K. Dick Award-winning novel Altered Carbon. Society has been transformed by new technology: "consciousness can be digitized; human bodies are interchangeable; death is no longer permanent".
In the upcoming television show, a rich man 300 years in the future (played by Rome's James Purefoy) needs his own murder solved.
The new trailer gives a look at Kovacs' abilities in his new body, with his enhanced combat techniques proving useful in the face of all the people trying to take him out as he navigates an unfamiliar world of mystery. The show also released creepy first look images as part of their Consumer Electronics Show 2018 promotion. Takeshi is brought back by Bancroft for the sole objective of uncovering his murder, but it looks like he will be dragged into something deeper and much more complicated. Netflix has released a brand-new trailer for its latest offering "Altered Carbon". The show looks impressively large, with stunning environments and sets. Netflix has clearly invested a lot into the series, as they have created an evocative futurist landscape that mimics similar narratives such as Blade Runner.
The opening lines of the trailer declare: "Your body is not who you are".
Netflix's Altered Carbon comes from creator and executive producer Laeta Kalogridis.
