While the 27-year-old Oscar victor says she's never come face-to-face with Trump, she told Winfrey she'd "definitely" be prepared if the opportunity presented itself.

The actress described their relationship in a similar way with THR's Awards Chatter podcast where she said she "had heard that he was a dog", but that he was "always nearly paternal" to her.

However, the star said she now feels like she is "taking something back" in her role as a spy who uses her body as a weapon in the film Red Sparrow.

She said she hopes to see "social change" and that there needs to be equality between men and women for that to happen.

"I've got a pretty good speech", the 27-year-old said in an interview with Oprah for The Hollywood Reporter.

Jennifer Lawrence said she was shocked by the numerous reports of sexual harassment and assault against Harvey Weinstein that first emerged in October.

"Oh, my God, I've been waiting for this moment".

'He was paternal to me. "We all knew he was a dog, we knew that he was a ... a tough guy, a brute, a tough guy to negotiate with". She's committed to health causes, and previous year, Lawrence donated $2 million to found the Jennifer Lawrence Foundation Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Kosair Children's Hospital in her hometown of Louisville, Kentucky.

Lawrence told Winfrey that she felt sick as she read the details of Weinstein's alleged behavior in the multiple reports. "I have something to say for all of them", she said. "I was just sick".

Lawrence, a board member for the non-profit organization Represent.Us, says she wants to embark on high school and college campus tours throughout the country: "I want to travel around to the areas I'm from so that people realize corruption is a completely nonpartisan issue".

Lawrence praised all the women who have come forward with allegations of sexual misconduct against a number of men in the industry, but said that all of the stories are as "horrifying" as each other.

She added: "As long as there is one group of humans that is overruling another one, there's going to be abuse, (and) why would we be thought of as equals?"
