"Buhari is a sectional leader, because he and his Northern leaders takes Nigerian as their personal property".

The president, who was conveyed by a chopper from Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, landed at Army Barracks Nkwagu in Abakaliki at about 11.15am accompanied by the state Governor, Dave Umahi, who was among other South-east governors who had received him at the airport.

It was gathered that on arrival, the president inaugurated two multi-billion naira flyovers on the African trans-Saharan highway which passes through Abakaliki to Cross River and Cameroon. "As the most populous country in Africa with over 300 ethnic groups, our diversity is nearly unique among the nations", he said.

Many in the southeast region view the president as anti-Igbo, a sentiment built on Buhari's crackdown aimed at secessionist activists led by Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The welcome also came with 2 Chieftaincy titles: Enyioma 1 of Ebonyi, which I am told means Trustworthy friend of Ebonyi; & Ochioha Ndigbo, which means Leader of Igbo people.

At least four governors and some traditional rulers welcomed the president during his first visit to the region since he was elected in 2015. "Both are inseparable. We must therefore continue to commit ourselves to the development of Nigeria", the president said, listing several projects he plans to undertake in the region.
